i have a 79 musicmaster i would like to upgrade
1- locking tuners- what would work on this guitar?

2- the old bridge just isn't working for me. i would like one that would give me individual height for each string. the mustang tailpiece looks like it would work, and cover all the old screwholes.

any suggestions, or a place to buy?

Tone Pro offers a set of locking Kluson tuners that should fit the existing holes in your headstock without modification and offer performance similar to Sperzels and other premium types. The shafts are split-style (like the original Klusons) and the keys have plated metal buttons.

I don't need the individual height adjustment so much on mine...I just adjust one side higher than the other to get a very good match to the fretboard radius. Intonation may suffer on some guitars, but mine seems good enough. As for tuners, since it has the "f" tuners, anything you put on the guitar will require new mounting holes. Bear in mind most tuning issues aren't the tuners at all, rather the condition of the nut and how you wrap your strings around the tuning posts. :) I suppose a hardtail strat bridge would give you the bridge adjustment you desire!
