I bought a refinished vintage 1962 Jaguar that also had its headstock refinished. My question is if I get the guitar body and headstock refinished to lake placid blue if it is possible to get a replacement decal for this year guitar from Fender ala http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... ment-decal?

Also what procedure do I follow. Do I take pictures before and after the refinish and do I take it to the service center before when it still has a decal or after once it loses its current decal?

You'll probably finish up your restoration a lot more quickly by using one of these than waiting in line to jump through the hoops at Fender......

Best of luck, HTH

Is there a difference between this in terms of look and feel from what Fender would give.

For the sake of information and common good. I ordered these waterslide decals and they suck hard. Might as well write fender jaguar with a sharpie. I repeat dont bother with guitarcentro.com.

Is anyone from fender able to answer

My question is if I get the guitar body and headstock refinished on my previously refinished 1962 Jaguar to lake placid blue if it is possible to get a replacement decal for this year guitar from Fender ala http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... ment-decal?

Also what procedure do I follow. Do I take pictures before and after the refinish and do I take it to the service center before when it still has a decal or after once it loses its current decal?

im not looking for non-fender decal recommendations I tried that and is a waste of 20 dollars.

If you are hoping Fender will sell you a decal......here's your best shot:
1. Go to an authorized Fender dealer/service center 2. Have them verify the authenticity of your guitar and take all the appropriate pictures. 3. Let the Authorized service center be the one's who contacts Fender regarding the "repair" 4. Wait and pray. :D
It can be done, but due to counterfeiting, Fender is VERY protective of things like decals ;) Good luck!

It still has the body and neck markings both the same month , the neck plate, and all the pots except one . The only replacements would be tuners, pickguard and one pot. Would this make it not qualify?

I don't think any aftermarket parts would "disqualify" your guitar. Fender will just have to be sure that the neck and body are the genuine articles before they will part with a logo....and even then they may require that an authorized service center apply the decal and refinish the neck :/ To prevent counterfeiting.......
