We require photographic evidence of this rather outlandish and ridiculous claim.

Starcaster is a make endorsed owned and directed by Fender, like Squier, isn't it?

Yes - if you go the site I linked, each of the models (including drums!) are sold thru selected retailers - Costco, Best Buy, etc.

Hey i just bought a floor model from best buys (used) Got the Starcastor, Fender Guitar Stand and Fender chord, for $79.00 sold as a display item. I just dropped it off at the local guitar shop to get it worked gonna cost$ 80$. So in all thats let me count my fingers......opps had to use the calculator lol $159.00 for the whole deal . what i like about the Guitar is that the way they wrote Starcaster on the neck, looks like stratocaster lol exactly the same curvy penmanship so i was fooled but from what i've seen so far I got a steal... Feed back please........ toyrocker

I'm pretty certain that they haven't made Starcasters since the 70's. It's a sweet guitar that doesn't get a lot of respect. You used to be able to pick them up for about $800.00.
