Absolutely! The strat's bridge pickup is angled for a specific reason. On a strat, the angled pickup allows the treble strings to sound much brighter due to the pickups treble side is closer to the bridge, and allows the bass strings to sound more full and less bright due to the top of the pickup being farther from the bridge. This will hold true for any pickup mounted in such a manner, whatever end is closer to the bridge will sound brighter. Like on the late 70's Musicmaster's which only had a neck pickup that was angled.

Interesting :!:

Makes sense too.
I wonder why Leo Fender didn't angle the pickups on the Jazzmaster and Jaguar.
Also remember the Mosrite with the angled neck pickup.

My bet is that the pickups on the Jaguar were not angled because it was already a very thin and bright sounding guitar. And as for the Jazzmaster, maybe Leo didn't feel the soapbar pickups would look good angled LOL.

Yep, that very well could be the reasons

An FYI for any considering a Jag - my Jag can sound full with the amps mids turned up from the normal "Strat" settings. Also have to turn 'down' the bass a notch, or two, after that.

Semie Mosely angled the neck pickups on Mosrite Mk Is. To better reproduce the 2nd octave harmonic...?
