hey guys, i'm a lefty guitarist and was thinkin about purchasing a Jazzmaster blacktop and switchin it for leftie. Any cons to doin this?

Put my Jazzmaster to the test. I find the body's "belly cut" and shape as well as balance to be all wrong for a flip, and for an added annoyance the 3 way switch gets in the way for the right hand.
Try before you buy is the best I can tell you.

Jimi Hendrix played a flipped Jazzmaster for a long time before he switched to Strats with no apparent problems.
