Many new players (to the electric guitar) find the 9-42 string set to their liking (various brands available). They're good for most styles generally and lend themselves to easy bending. More seasoned players (ie: geezers......like me) often opt for a 10-46 set. These provide a bit more sustain and volume due to the increased mass of the string going across the pole pieces of a pickup. Hardcore SRV junkies go with extremely heavy gauges -- often 12-52 or even stiffer. For your Tele I'd recommend either of the first two sets, at least initially. Once you acclimate to the guitar you'll develop your own preferences.

That's my brand, Marty.

Have a ball and let us know how they work out.

Sounds super, Marty.

I usually get two or three months' use from a set of GHS strings, but I'm rehearsing twice a week and gigging five to six times a month, plus normal daily play at home. YMMV of course.
