The auction looks a little shady, but this might be just incompetence on the seller's side. Heavily modded jazzmaster that may or may not be legitimate. The seller says it is a 62'. Any thoughts?

The "F" neck plates didn't even exist in 1962 and the serial stamped on it dates to '66 or thereabouts. As well, I'm suspect of that period pic accompanying the listing, with another punk playing what appears to be a LP Custom. Likewise the "granny" glasses the other guy is wearing didn't come into vogue until popularized by Jim McGuinn (of the Byrds) during the "Summer Of Love" era. I think the guitar is bogus.

If you're really jonesing for a Jazzmaster, take a good look at the new Classic Player edition. It's a superb instrument and the factory mods (tailpiece relocated closer to the bridge, increased neck/body pitch angle) truly enhance its overall playability.

Best of luck, HTH

better safe then sorry. The seller is only a 98 percent positive and o have been reading a few of the his reviews and it seems most of his sales on guitars he usually does not tell people the entire truth (dead pick ups, not all orginal, etc)
