Hey all, long time lurker first time poster. I am thinking of buying a DuoSonic up for sale on craigslist & was wondering if you all could help me identify what should & shouldn't be on this guitar. I am mainly a Strat guy so your help would be appreciated.

I'm sure that this has been refinished & I don't think the neck is original. For one it has Deluxe Kluson Tuners that say Fender Fender instead of Kluson. Other than that I am at a loss. Here is a link to the sale:

Well the "Dick Dale" re-fin defintiely isn't authentic. A '63 Duo would have a rosewood slab fretboard with clay dot markers and plastic-buttoned single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners. The pickups would be similar to the later Mustang with solid covers concealing the magnet poles. The CTS volume and tone pots would rotate via chrome Tele-style knobs and the Switchcraft pickup selector would have a cream-colored Catalin tip screwed to the tang. These components were all mounted on a white single-play pickguard. The chrome bridge featured three saddles similar to the Esquire/Telecaster arrangement and a chrome "ash tray" was available. The body was poplar and the correct neck plate would have an "L" serial number stamped on it.
