... just bought a used Dearmond M-65C. Where can I look-up the serial number?

Starts with IC9812 - I think it has something to do with Indonesia, 1998, December ... maybe ?

Guessing all the numbers after that are just a simple sequence number.

BTW ... very nice guitar ... needs a setup and some other goodies. I know a luthier who used to work for Martin ... can't wait for him to give it a tune-up.

I too have a DeArmond and trying to find out the where and when with my serial number. it's an M66 bright orange serial number IC010624903. beautiful guitar and after replacing the wiring and pots (previous owner wired it with some cheap speaker wire, terrible solder job and loads of spliced insulated with masking tape) it sounds great.

Here's one of the links I've found that also discusses DeArmond serial numbers. It's not the Mother Load but it give a little more info on how they are constructed. Looks like my initial guess was pretty good. Country-Year-Month-sequence number. I'll continue to research as well.

Any more info your guitar would be nice.

Mine is a LP clone in a dark sunburst color and came with the original case. I had it set up by a local music shop but the action is a bit high so I still plan on bringing it to my guitar guru (http://www.finocchioguitar.com/)

I also have a contact in NJ for an electronics guru (http://www.dynaco-st70.com/). He specializes in vintage radios, stereos; mostly tubes but he does dabble in guitar amps ad sound systems.
