Was checking out Fender Japan's website and saw quite a few Mustangs, Jaguars and Jazzmasters that interested me, in a lot of styles and colors I haven't seen here in the US.

http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp/fender/200 ... ustang.htm
http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp/fender/200 ... master.htm

What I was wondering is does anyone know a place to obtain these new in the US? Not on eBay, but actually new as in a store or online company?

Thanks!

Martin

there is a good chance i will be in Korea for a year or so in the very near future with a few planned expeditions into japan. pm me if you are serious and maybe i can get a couple sent back. i hope to get one for myself so it shouldn't be too big of a deal.

FMIC currently forbids the sale of MIJ/CIJ instruments excepting a few selected models (the Aerodynes, the Mustangs, the Geddy Lee signature bass, periodically some Jaguars and Jazzmasters, plus some others).

Hey zenbone, if you're headed off to Seoul, etc you may also find some deals on Ibanez. My wife spent two years there and they were both plentiful and priced to sell.

There are Japanese companies that sell MIJ Fenders Gibsons etc. from the Fuji Gen factory and although they are mostly used they only deal in 8.5 to 10 guitars.I believe one of them is called Japan Guitars there is also a Japanese company that deals exclusively in Strats http://hi-guitars.com their shipping charges aren't very high as a buddy of mine has dealt with Japan Guitars several times.

Here's a spot you can try and they have a huge selection of MIJ Fuji Gen Fenders as well as Baccus Fender copies that are superbly handcrafted guitars and generally cost more than Fenders. The MIJ Fenders go for anywhere from $800 up and are usually of very high quality although often slightly used. www.guitarsjapan.com
