For awhile now, I've wondered about the origins of my Telecaster, especially due to the fact that I've never seen a Fender guitar like this before.

So if there's a place to find out exactly what kind of model my guitar is, then I figured this was the place to do it.

Here's some links to pictures that I took of it,

I've included several pictures showing the body, the neck, and the serial #. There's several things about this guitar that aren't typical to Fender, for example the Gibson styled SG bridge, a Neck thru Body construction, semi-hollow body, the body shape, the manufacturing location, to my knowledge I haven't heard of Fender having a factory in Korea, I was pretty sure that was Gibson/Epiphone territory. The pickups are Seymour Duncan P-90s, the whole fretboard and neck plays very similarly to a Jackson as well.

I've had a few friends suggest to me that this might've been a custom shop model (not fender custom shop of course, but possibly a boutique guitar). I've owned this guitar for a couple years now, and when I bought it, the owner said he thought it was '96 model built guitar. Anyways, she plays great and sounds great, and she's really unique, I would just love to know what to call her, because calling her a Telecaster doesn't really make sense, since the only part of the guitar that's anything like a Telecaster is the head and maybe the f-hole that you sometimes find on the Tele Thin-Lines.

Anyways, hope to hear back from someone! Thanks in advance!

You're right that got quite a few hits on google, thanks alot tim. So it's probably a discontinued product, that still doesn't account for the "Korea" staple though, most Fender's I've seen are either produced in Mexico, the States, or Japan.

Correct, that's a TC-90 -- not currently in the lineup but they do have a bit of a following. I think they're way cool personally. :-)
