The new Blacktop Jazzmaster looks pretty cool. Does anyone know how the pickups are wired? (series or parallel?). Splitting the humbucker could give some additional interesting tones... has anyone looked into this?

All humbuckers are wired in series (with themselves) for full power as is this one. To split or wire the pickup in parallel will certainly brighten up the pickup's tonality but at the same time, will reduce its output. Note that in the case of splitting, the humbucking effect will be lost as well.

Both pickups in this guitar when selected to be on together are wired in parallel.

Cool. Thanks. Looks like an easy mod would be to put a Seymour Duncan triple-shot around the bridge humbucker. Then when both pickups are selected, you could then select the coil on the Bridge that humbucks the Neck pickup. Since neck and bridge are wired in parallel it should give a nice tele-like tone.

You're welcome.

Yes, many options can be easily had with a bit of imagination and the right components!

Is it possible to move that pup selector switch? I hit them when they're right there down low. I wonder what it looks like behind the pickguard.

Anything can be moved anywhere. It is just a matter of again, the right components and of course, someone with skills commensurate with the task(s).
