How is this thing a jag? It completely disposes of the jag controls and circuit. I am very disappointed.

that is why i would put $200-300 more to get the real deal. and from the pricing and from what i've heard its quality is around that of a standard mexi strat or tele. so not really good quality but not really bad either.

A Jag and Jazzmaster with humbuckers is an abomination as far as I'm concerned. They could have used the Jag body as a platform but should have called it something else because neither one is a Jag or Jazzmaster.

I have no problem with hh jags, jags withe TOMs, et al. But when you remove the jag controls, you have something closer to a cyclone or toronado than a jaguar.

I'm a fan. Like the Jagmaster. Tried the Balcktop Telecaster. Tone is amazing. Plus it has a 24" radius

How do the blacktops compare to the dragsters in the special?

The BlackTop Jaguar. Two HBs, one vol., one tone, 3-way switch, MJ frets, 9.5" radius, 24"scale. It's got everything I want and I like the way it looks in black. I am not a purist and couldn't give a rat's a** if it doesn't have the other Jag controls and stuff.

I think what Fender is saying when they made this, in the days of overpriced $800 Epiphone Les Pauls made overseas, they can sell a guitar with the authentic brand for almost half http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Tribute-Electric-Guitar-621058-i1472867.gc

I'm looking at it from another angle. I've been in the hunt for the right electric for me. I like the looks (shape of body) of the Jazzmaster and Jaguar. I like the smallers scale of the Jaguar. I absolutely HATE those 3 switches at the bottom. I graze them sometimes when I'm strumming. Plus, I think they look stupid. Sorry, that's my opinion. Plus, I want something fatter than single coils. I think. Although I admit, I haven't played around too much with the tones of either a Jazz or a Jag. I guess those out of phase switches gives you some options in sound. Either way, I like the streamlined version of the Jaguar or the Jazz. My problem is the switch. I'll hit it. I wish there was a way to move that. Does anybody know if there is?

I'm not against calling it something else though. I can see the merit to that. But I think they're calling it the same because it's the same size body and smaller neck. And the same with the jazz. I think. Is the body a little bigger on a Jazzmaster than a Jaguar? Or are they the same size body?

nah, it's got a 24" scale, and a 9.5" radius.

i don't see what all the hubbub's about. it's a hardtail jaguar without all the frills.
