I am thinking about purchasing a sunurst classic player Jaguar and was wondering whether these use the 1meg pots, like the vintage and AVRI models do. Also, how are the pickups on these as far as hum and noise? I owned a Japanese Jaguar in the mid 90's that squealed like a banshee! Most guy's I've talked to though tell me that the Japanese pickups are to blame, not the original design. How are the one's on these classic players, in regard to squeal and feedback? p.s. I like to use just a little overdrive, not mondo distortion.

'Bought a single coil CP Jaguar in January of '09.

Very nice guitar for surf, lounge, jazz, pop, country, show tunes, folk rock, even neo-classical. No problems with loud pickups or feeding back, but 'am not a high-gain player.

The CP Jaguar was such a nice guitar tho, it made this picker want the real thing; the CP was replaced after 17 months by a '62 Reissue Thin Skin Jaguar, which is a magnificent instrument.

Proof to this picker, Fender can still make the guitars which made them legendary.

Best of fortune.
