I'm new here, I am going to include a link to my flickr account where I loaded pictures of this guitar.

My grandfather bought this guitar for a dollar at a garage sale. It was covered in stickers when he brought it home, I cleaned it up and took the 5 strings that were on it off. It has a serial number plate on the back [L300512] It has Gibson tuners which were put on there by it's previous owner, and it has one DiMarzio pickup.. I am not even sure if it is a "handmade" body but it's pretty rough in some spots. I researched the serial number which the results were - it is a '91 '92 Japan made Fender. I am not sure if the neck was replaced or not, for all I know there may not be more than one original part on this guitar, or if it is even an "original guitar!!" But if you know anything or can tell anything from the pic, Please Please PLEASE let me know! I know that the tuners are worth something.. I was originally going to paint the guitar. And I am pretty close to doing it if someone would tell me what this is exactly. If It is a "homemade" or "cheap" body I plan to sand it down and paint it. The neck is in pretty good shape. I might try and get it working again, who knows. Thanks -Talia

I can pretty well guarantee that's it's not anything Fender ever made the body is way too radical. The wood has a very interesting grain,if I were refinishing it I would strip it to the bare wood and put on a stain that brought out the grain even more.It would be a great project guitar and probably make a great player as well as a one off.Post pix if you decide to finish it.

Definitely not a Fender; in fact Fender MIJ guitars do not have serial numbers on the neck plate; they have them on the neck (some series had them on the headstock, most of them have them on the back of the neck just above where it bolts on to the body).

I think this might be some kind of Vantage or Aria guitar - they made a bunch of guitars with odd bodies back in the day (say 1980-1985). You don't have a good shot of the headstock but it looks kind of Vantage-y to me.
