I want to put lace sensors on a reissue jaguar cause I love the ones on my strat. Question is for those who've done this do I need to mod the pickgaurd. They look a bit larger than jag pickups. Thanks!

Hi there.

If you mean Strat pick ups, yes you would need to change the size to accommodate them. There is also the height difference, the strat ones are lower, and this could cause a issue to adjust them in.

Looking at Seymour Duncan they have some strat units that might fit in better with less modding.

I find it puzzling why someone would want to change the sound of a Jag, that beautiful warmth and softer "quack" of the Jag is what makes it so identifiable as a Jaguar.Change the pups and all you have is a Jag in body only.I wouldn't mess with the sound of my Jag for the world.

What can I say, I love to tinker! I like taking apart my guitars and seeing how they work inside! It was fun putting in new pups on my strat and I liked the way they sound! That being said I did get an opportunity to try out the MIM Jag and I got to say I liked what I was hearing! I think it's good to remember whats great about guitars of the past, but also think about new things to try out. Besides most mods are easily reversable right?
