I bought a new Mustang 65 reissue, but there's a problem with the tremolo arm. The whammy bar doesn't stay in... There's no threads on the inside of the tremolo to hold the bar. Actually, the whammy bar didn't have threads either, but I found more arms that fit and had threads... but they don't stay in either. It's stopping me from thrashing around like a monkey when I play, and that's no fun.

Is this a mistake? Is my guitar flawed? What can I do to fix this?

If the re-issues are done the same as the originals, they aren't threaded.
There's a screw that goes in on the end of the tailpiece that faces down and it holds the arm in--however the screw has a habit of falling out & going missing--quite common actually--I have no idea where my screw is.
