I've got a Fender Bullet with Double humbucker pickups in it. I've figured it to be from 81, is this an odd one??? I've looked all over the internet and just cant find anything out about it. Maybe someone on here might know??? I'd love to find out some information on it maybe even a possible value, Thank you!!!

Well, the only thing to it is that it is coded with a E11 number which means it was made in 81 correct???

You really can't go by the serial number on Fenders, particularly back then. Remember, they used the "S9XXXXX" serial numbers on Strats from 1979 though 1981. It wouldn't surprise me for a 1982 Bullet to have an "E1XXXXX" serial number - even though the HH model wasn't introduced unitl 1982 they used the same neck as the previous models, so I'm sure Fender had the necks made up and in their parts warehouse with the existing serial numbers.

Hey, my 1979 Lead II has an "E0XXXXX" serial number - which makes sense considering the Leads weren't introduced until say September of 1979 - why have headstock decals with serial numbers made up for only 4 months of production?

Sounds cool all the same though. Dont get too hung up on the details, if it's a good axe thats all that matters

The Fender Bullets were made from 1981 to 1983.Most made in Korea. The 1981 were single cutaways , at the end of the 1983 run they were double cutaway. And ive read about BulletS3 model 1983 -1984 , and a Bullet S3 1985 to 1988 with double cutaways , and Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard , truss rod adjuster, stratocaster style headstock

Hi there,
Honestly, my memory is fuzzy on the sequence of Bullets, where they were made etc., so i won't bore you with too much of it.
It does sound like an H2 and 82-83 sounds right too. I went to google images (I'm not proud) and found this:
http://www.tdpri.com/forum/guitar-owner ... lub-5.html
which i thought was interesting.
My recollection on this version of the Bullet (H2) is of being fairly impressed by them at the time. My recollection of the red Tele looking ones with the all-in-one pickguard/bridge made of metal is not so kind :O).
Best regards,
rob

Hi Serry,
Yeh, they were a beginner/student level guitar much as the Musicmasters and Musicmaster Basses were at the time.
regards,
rob
