I rock a Squire Stagemaster that I had to rebuild as I bought the body/neck used at a music store empty. It was worth it. I play Metal and this guitar is perfectly suited for that. But then, Fender guitars aren't typically associated with Heavy Metal. That may be why they bought Jackson and Charvel.

Apparently you've never heard of the Fender Talons or Contemporary Strats! :D

Yes, I have...

However, I built mine from an empty shell with parts in my shop. It is therefore a "Stagemaster Custom". Not worth a penny, but plays like a dream and screams like a banshee. Best Metal Axe I ever built (until I finish my Charvel Model 3 Guitar this weekend. LOL). Anyone can buy a cool guitar or spend alot of money buying a cool guitar. Takes skill and knowledge to build one like this:

Those are beautiful guitars you have there buddy.

But a Dean that you built? THAT to me is even sweeter because you surely tweaked it to your personal specs in a way that it didn't originally come. That is the kind of work that we pay ALOT of money for when we buy custom axes from others, especially if they have to cut the wood for the bodies and necks. I just don't have that kind of shop hardware, so I have to buy the bodies, necks and parts and assemble them into the axes of my dreams. I bet that Dean you built is the SWEETNESS brother!!!

Thanks. Modded I guess would be the proper term for it. I bought the Dean used a few years back, and since then, the neck and body are the only stock parts on there.

See that's what I'm talking about.

Anyone can go out and drop 2 grand or more on a Fender or Gibson and it's no different than the other Fenders or Gibsons on the rack next to it. But you mod an axe and all of a sudden it's REALLY YOURS. IT sounds and feels like nothing else. CUSTOM. But not everyone out there can be a good guitar tech. There are plenty of musicians who must have a guitar tech because all they can do is PLAY the instrument. They can't build, modify, assemble, or repair their own.

STRAT ULTRA they were great guitars .Had that fast ebony fingerboard, floyd rose.lsr, locking tuners,s-s-h configuration.I would love to see them do a reissue without the lace sensors .With shred axes hot at this time Fender could rack up with that model done in a modern way
