I've always wanted a Jag-Stang but the idea of picking one up secondhand somewhat worries me. I'd rather get a brand new one and break it in myself.

Performer.
They only made them for a year and if you can find one they are ridiculously expensive.

Actually what I really want is an original Starcaster, the semi-hollowbody model. those things are gorgeous.

I agree, I'd love to play a Starcaster.

Why did they discontinue them? Couldn't match up to the ES-335? :?

I think so, the offset body just never caught on I think. I see them on eBay from time to time, but the unique look and sound would be worth the outrageous prices. I would love to add one to my collection. Maybe once I'm done with college =\.

I must say when I saw that Fender decided to use the name for the new budget line of strats, that little glimmer of hope died.

Even though I believe they only came with maple fingerboards--and I'm nt a fan of those, I'd love a real Starcaster. I'd have to vote fort that one.

Would anyone buy a reissue of this (from the 1970 catalog):

Hello Grunge Guitar Guy,

I'm a big fan of the 70's Starcaster,
I would like to see it made again for sure.
Make mine a sunburst.

Cheers.

Hey,
What about the Elite?

That Robben Ford guitar. I had a friend who had one and was upset when he sold it to someone who ended up trashing it. Looked and played like a dream but way out of my budget at the time.

I recently ended up with a Squier Esprit which is a much cheaper version, but I admit is a great sounding and playing guitar. I use it instead of my beloved Tele when I need to work 'between' the Strat guy and the Jazz Box guy. Be nice to have the real thing, though.

I would love to see the custom, of course it was a part out to get rid of the 12 string leftovers.
The Musiclander/swinger is really cool too.
How about a Marauder?
And maybe the Cyclone.

If enough people ask will Fender reissue a guitar? It would be awesome if they reissued the Starcaster, even a MIM classic players model would be great. Can people contact Fender to ask for a reissue? Do they monitor these forums?

Here are a couple of things to consider. Tooling up for a limited run of instrument is very expensive, and how many signatures can you get a hold of to make your reissue a reality? but by all means if you can get a good groundswell of folks wanting a particular item let me know. I here by put this task upon you. Go on make it a reality. Good luck.
