It's a beautiful guitar, but I can't find anywhere local that has it, so I haven't had a chance to play it. Any feedback on it?

I have one and I absolutely love it. The sound is so unique and the short scale neck is fantastic for players wit any size hands. In fact, it's so great I'm somewhat scared to play it for fear of damaging it. It's a forever guitar for me, it will always be in my collection.

I have one I bought online from Musiciansfriend. To be completely honest, I wasn't too impressed upon receiving the guitar.
The fret ends were sharp and it wouldn't stay in tune. I love Fender guitars and have owned several Mexican, Japanese and American models. I had never had any setup issues with any other Fender guitar I've owned.
I would encourage you to play one before buying it. Also, the pickups don't have a lot of output even compared to other single coil equipped guitars of mine.
I put $160.00 into mine: replaced the pickups with Bill Lawrences, had the fret ends dressed and had them lock down the tremolo (not one of Leos best designs).
Now it plays & sounds great! The only issue I have with that is when I purchase a $700.00 guitar, I expect it to play well and stay in tune. :?

Hmmm, true. :? I'm not so sure about it then. I'll have to find one and give it a play...

I guess I lucked out then. I went to a local guitar shop that carries Fender, and saw the Daphne Blue model there, couldn't resist playing it. My girlfriend would not let me walk out of the store without it. It was already set up perfectly, no blemishes, and still plays wonderfully. The strings were old, but that's to be expected. The only problem I've seen with it going out of tune is with excessive tremolo use. I actually took the bar off, I never use tremolo anyway, and would prefer a fixed bridge in any guitar. I've had no problems. I'd just recommend playing the guitar first to see if it fits your playing style and if it's right for you.
