Hi all,

This is my first post and I am here because I couldn't think of a better place to ask this question. I have come across this guitar which is a Squier Katana. I know a little bit about this guitar (at least what I could dig up on the internet) and of Stryper; however, I was not aware that a Stryper Signature guitar was made. This of course, begs the questions where did it come from and/or were such guitars made? The paint looks original as well as the bible verse and 777.

Any thoughts? I would love to learn more about this guitar.

Thanks.

Cool guitar. Just got the wrong spelling in the name "Isaiah". I have read one post about this guitar. This is a Squire Katana made in 1985, the only year they produced it.

Just a little info on the Guitar. I was the original owner of this guitar. I had it custom painted. I am from Fayetteville,NC. I have been looking for this guitar ever since I sold it over 20 years ago. I had a Jacson pickup put in it and had the guitar tech for Oz Fox set it up for me. I loved this Guitar. Where are you located and do you still have this guitar?

Speedcity, I recall a "Born Again Christain Band" I went to Golden West Collage Audio eng. classes with in the 80's from the Orange Co./Los Angles Co. Calif. know as Stryper. I'm in clined to bleave this katana is one of there guitars. The band diden't seem to mingle with the rest of class so I can't be 100% sure not knowing any of the band members or there names. The Bodyglove & Gargoyles stickers are from popular So. Cal. surfer products at that time.

I would sure be interesting if dakotarain/Perry Howell was one my class mates .... small world.

Rember Binkey & Mr. Scott ?

Neither Michael Sweet or Oz Fox of Stryper ever played a Squier Katana... in their heyday they played Jacksons (Mike played a Randy Rhoads and Oz played a Kelly and Soloist.) The yellow and black designs of their guitars were created and done using paint and black tape - they did the work themselves.

GMW Guitar Works later made a line of Stryper signature guitars. I think one other guitar company made an Oz Fox guitar but I am not sure.
