Remember the so many odd million dollar '57 Strat that was on eBay that sat unsold recently?

Well, meet its little brother: http://cgi.ebay.com/FENDER-LEAD-3-Elect ... 20b253e50f

So, who here is the lucky S-O-B that's gonna take home an '84 Fender Lead III for $14,000 grand today?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Hahaha! A Fender Lead III is only worth $775-875 according to the Vintage Guitar Price Guide. http://books.google.com/books?id=o_SLwp ... ii&f=false

I can't wait for the seller to come here and try to explain his illogical reasoning for this crazy price, like what Jim Simons did with his infamous $5 million Strat.

Here it is: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=40053

The seller said that because a Picasso painting (that he thinks is ugly) recently sold for over $100 million, then his modified 1957 Strat must be worth $5 million. That's like over 300X the going rate of similar Strats of that era with non vintage parts and mods.

So with that logic, the next time a Monet sells on the auction block, I'm going to put a pair of my old socks on ebay for $25,000 because I do not like Monet's works at all. Sure that makes perfect sense

Even 10% of that price would be way over the top,the sad thing is the guy seems to be completely serious-poor guy-certainly to be pitied.
