Fender Jag-Stang was put to bed a few years ago. I got the idea of a Squier Jag-Stang in a Jag-Stang reissue poll and the votes were inclining towards reissuing it.
Then there was the issue of the price and if it were reissued what would be the changes.
Squier Jag-Stang would have historical value and be a good beginner guitar.
Sold with the nice price of about 350-400$ I would belive it could be a good electric guitar. :D So please take part in this subject and leave your comments.

I'd say yes but I don't think it will happen under the Squier label.
You may not command the $$$ you could if it was under the Fender brand label. The unfortunate reality is that if the money isn't worth the reissue under a label, it won't happen.
If it doesnt make dollar$ it don't make sense.

As a guitarist i would like to see the Jag-stang reissued.

It's a unique guitar, I used to own a CIJ, but it's just not worth it as an instrument to reissue. It is just a novelty.

+1... the only reason i would ever want one is because im a nirvana fan and it would likely never get to see my amp more than once or twice

There isn't enough interest in Kurt/Nirvana right now to warrant it. It wouldn't be profitable without any representation.

I wish I could uncheck my vote for stupid idea--I don't want to insult anyone--but you can definitely count me among the no camp. I find that guitar so hideous it makes me want to scream.

Where's the Jaguar in a Jag-Stang?

Fender's better off just bringing the Cobain-influnced CIJ Jaguar over here instead. At least someone other than a die-hard Cobainiac would probably use it.

You mean a double humbucker Jag? You don't need to track down a CIJ one since Fender came out with a MIM one a couple of years ago. This one: http://www.fender.com/products/search.p ... 0141710300

I agree that HH Jag is better than a Jagstang in terms of playability and it wouldn't have the Cobain stigma attached to it that a Jagstang has.

Although I voted Yes for a Squier Jagstang just so I can get one cheap to fullfill my Nirvana fix I get every couple of years and bang out Teen Spirit, Heart Shaped Box, and other grunge era golden oldies

I work in a guitar shop in England and I get loads of people asking after Squier Jagstangs. Although if Fender were going to re-issue it there should really be a left handed version. How insulting to Cobain the Great that if he was still alive he wouldn't be able to play his own signature guitar! If there's no left hand version then it's a cynical attempt to make money from a deeply troubled man's tragic suicide.

Fender should release at least ONE Squier Jaguar/ Mustang / Jagmaster / Jagstang style guitar in left hand. It's lefty discrimination!

My take on it is that Fender would still have to pay royalties to the Cobain family, leaving a Squier priced guitar with little profit margin to make it worthwhile. Unless the shortcomings of the original were addressed, I also doubt Fender would want to put their name on a reissue. The new pawn shop Super-Sonic might pretty much kill the idea of a reissue too. It resembles a reversed JS.

I say, Squier or nothing! A $1,000 Jag-Stang would be a joke. Don't do it Fender! Personally I have never owned a Super-Sonic but this will be the 2nd time a Squier has become a Fender and selling for a lot more money. I think a lot of guitarist would be happy if Squier would be releasing these offsets instead of Fender. That's just my opinion though.

You should consider the fact Kurt disliked how the guitar looked.

The Super-Sonic is back with two canted Fender DH-1 zebra-bobbin humbuckers instead of one. Pawn Shop Series.
