Hi,
I bought in a sale out of a stopping musician, along with numerous pedals, an amp, a Roland drum machine, a ZOOM effector, a really good Spanish classical guitar and some other things and stuff ..etc.., a USA Fender Bullet S3 1983.
It has still the original case and the neck is fairly good shape no fretwear ,but that’s about it, for the rest it's a real disaster.
The Kluson's are half rusted, the pickguard was spray painted in black with such a lack of detail, that I almost had to shed a cry of agony when I opened the case. It’s completely wrinkled like a pre-facelift face. The Body who was original in some kind of faded yellow was repainted in a ugly burgundy, so thick, that I believe it was done by a blobmachine or something like that, really believe me, the body looks like a giant bubblelicious!!!!...a almost 30 years old Fender unworthy.
The pick ups in the guitar, I never seen such ones...
Bullets guitars seem to have closed pickup covers like a Mustang, in this one there are normal covers with visible staggered pole pieces.I don’t think they are American made. They are wound with some kind of dark (black) copper wire, not the coppercolor we all know. There is black cloth around, and black and white cloth wires, they are connected to DM5, 5way switch. They sound really good but my guess is that they are most likely Japan or something Far Eastern made???, of course the pick up covers and control knobs where spray painted black with the same canister and the same ‘steady’ hand.
I only had to pay the man a160$ for all his stuff, including the Fender Bullet.
I don’t like to play the guitar as looks now, it depresses me that someone over sprayed a 30 year old Fender.
I think I bought crap, but ok,I must admit I was blinded by the Fender in the lot, it was only when I got home I realised my mistake.

But anyway here are my questions:
-Can paint be removed from a guitar body without ruining the original finish? (acetone doesn’t work).
-Can Paint be removed from plastic parts?
-Does anyone know what pick ups these are.

-Should I even bother to restore the Bullet, are they of some value or could they become valuable, or should I sale it as pieces (there are not many good ones on it, except the neck and the hardshell case and the bridge).
Note:Where I live there are not much Bullet’s around, and they are rather rare.

Thank you very much
