Hello.
Im new to these forums and for a while now , i have wanted to own a Fender guitar and i have looked at many models. The one model that interests me most is the Jaguar.

The guitar looks great , sounds great from many videos i have seen.

The model that i have been looking at is :

Classic Player Special HH

http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=9346

Im only a student so i cant go all out on other more expensive models.
Any opinions on this would be very helpful towards my decision making.
Thanks.

Welcome to the Forums!
My best advice to you is try as many guitars out as you can.
Find one that is comfortable and sounds good to you.
If you can afford a Jaguar get it.
But only if you like the playability.
Good luck in your search!

Try many Fender guitars until you find the one you really fall in love with... This pretty much takes me about 30 minutes before I find one I really like. They have such a great sound...

+1, go to every guitar centre in your area, and try out as many guitars as you can plugged into an amp. The longest I've spent in a guitar centre is hours until I got kicked out

I have a 70's Classic Strat (Maple neck) & the Jag Players Special HH. Both are great guitars & very different guitars in tone and playability.

I'd encourage anyone interested in the Jaguar to buy it, you will not be dissapointed.

Anything with Fender on the headstock is a quality instrument at a value for money price.

Once you own one Fender (Guitar or Amp) you will own more. Tone & comfort of playing is a very personal thing, what you will like will be different to other people who play the same instrument. Check out everything & go after what you like.

you couldn't have been more right. the jaguar is one of the best-sounding things out there, and the feel is just so right. but i still suggest try it out first and feel the groove for yourself.

I love the Jaguar as well and I highly recommend that model. But I agree with everyone on the forum that you should try out as many as you can at stores like GC or others and then choose the one that you love best.

At that point scour the web and try to find deals, Amazon, eBay are good places to look for savings, and also if you do buy at GC shop online and Google Guitar Center promo codes and you can find discount coupons to add to your cart.

Also, make sure to sign up for the Guitar Center website newsletter, they often have sale deals on guitars and will send you promo codes right to your email.

I'd reccomend the special Jag HH(with the Dragsters) over the CP, I love that #$@*&!% guitar so much.

Jaguars became famous for being Jaguars with delicious single coils.

Go for an SG if you want doubles and get the real Gibson ones. An SG Faded is a fab guitar for the price. Add pup covers and good knobs and it's great axe..

I agree with JSJH,the Jaguar is only a Jaguar with single coils as far as I'm concerned the HH isn't a Jaguar but a Gibson wannabe in a Fender body. If you want humbuckers get a Gibson SG or Les Paul or even an Epiphone as a lot of their current are just as good or even better than the Gibson models for instance the Epi 59 or 60 Les Paul reissue.I have a 66 Jaguar and the sound of that to me is a true Jaguar, you'd be doing yourself a favour by trying one out,the HH is an abomination and shouldn't be called a Jaguar.

I'd be the first to agree that a Jaguar HH is a "departure" from the prototypical vintage configuration. But that said, I've heard these guitars and they do sound pretty nice. Not the usual Jag vibe of course -- more "beef", more "wail" (especially through a DRRI and a Fulltone OCD). I would prefer the CP version with its enhanced playability features but I'm sure the gentleman who originally posted will try many instruments out before he finds "his" guitar. And to him I say "rock on".

Hin there.

I would also suggest since money is a concern here, look at a couple of the MIM starts, a H-S-S could be the ticket for you, and save a you some money as well.
