Hello Fender Folk,

Does anyone know what would be a good string substitute for the "Special string set number 750" that is recommended for the Palomino, Concert and Kingman in the 1965 owners guide? Or what gauge the 750 set was? I've been searching around and can't find that info.

I recently picked up a Palomino in good condition. It's got lots of spider webbing in the finish but other than that it's real nice. I love how it sounds. It's got a late fifties blues sound. Warm with decent bottom but also a little bit 'canny' sounding. I've got it set up with Martin 12's right now just b/c I had them on hand, but they are too heavy. I'd have to adjust the truss too keep them on and I rather know what the proper set up is before making any adjustment to the guitar.

Thanks in advance
