Are you serious??? I don't mean to sound like a jerk but for real? Do you want a new Mustang or like and original 60s/70s mustang? Cuz if you are looking to trade a USA strat for the new Mexican Mustang, you have a serious problem. I am going to assume you want an old one.

well, thank your for not being fake about it. i know its a STUPID move, but i absolutely love the mustangs. strats are cool too, but not for me. i personally dont care where the mustang is made, crafted, or assembled, i just want one.

ill put it this way, if... for the rest of my life could only own one guitar, it would be a mustang. whether made in japan, mexico or even mars, i would never trade it or sell it.

you need to put your strat on ebay, and then get a 65 or 69RI.

i hung on to my strat after i got my mustang, but merely because i was in fear that i'd not be able to find one like it again.

now that i've gotten rid of the mustang, i'm certain i won't be able to find one like it again. it's a '73 with a chunky '78 bronco neck.

It would only be stupid if you do an even trade. A CIJ Mustang will not hold it's value like a MIA strat. As long as you get what is fair market value for that strat is what I was concerned about.

You didn't say what year or model Strat so its hard to say what its worth on the open market, or what you might get in trade.

I can tell you vintage USA Mustangs are a thing to behold...
