Hi.

I'm in the middle of re-wiring a jagmaster. I know there's a Squier forum, but I thought I'ld get a broader advice group here and learn more about generic guitar wiring along the way.

So I've got 2 GFS VEH humbuckers. I've got the diagram they sent, along with downloads from Seymour Duncan, Guitar Elecronics, and various others. I also took notes when I tore apart the original wiring.

I'm totally confused now!

The colors are often backwards, but after much research, I think I've figured out the hot from ground, regardless of color coding or company.

What is getting the best of me is the tone cap routing. Some diagrams show the tone cap between the center lug of the tone pot and ground, while others show the cap connecting the outside lugs of the volume, tone and ground.

I know the problem here is my lack of the basic understanding of electronics, but I'm trying!

If any of you can shed some light on this, then thank you. Pictures are even better!

Thanks again,
DScrunchy :?

Either way achieves the same end. As a matter of fact, I still use both ways in matters of convenience. Which way of the two is better? That's debatable and essentially, much ado about nothing. So, choose one of the two methods you feel more confident following and stick with that diagram.

You're welcome and good luck.

Same for me, both work well for me so just choose the diagram that feels best for you. Sorry I haven't got any pictures to share.

Thanks.
