This is one model of Fender guitar I have never heard of.

I have heard of the acoustic versions, though. This, though, is pretty odd. It appears to be a solid body electric with an acoustic-style bridge and two Lace Sensors or Mustang pickups.

I'm considering buying it if a friend of mine doesn't beat me to the punch.

So, can anyone tell me a little more about it?

I played one at a GC in Chicago area, same place btw that I played the first Fender Montara, and it was pretty nice.

It's the same concept as an Epiphone SST, solid body design, acoustic looks. The beauty part is they play like an electric but sound acoustic, no feedback due to the solid body but you can't use this one around the campfire unless there's power close by.

Pretty cool, have seen lots of black ones on Evil-bay from time to time, and a couple red.

Very interesting guitars.

However, this one that I had linked to, although it's long gone, had a Tele neck pickup.

I really love my Santa Rosa. I bought it new in 1988, and have been playing it on stage, and in studio ever since. Mine is a sunburst, and extremely beautiful. I love the way it plays and sounds. I just bought a black one on e-bay to match my black 83 strat, and my black 89 tele.

Got one... Tobacco sunburst in color. Its my fav guitar I've ever owned... and its the best for tossing in the car (in a soft case) and taking to a BBQ with a small amp or just jamming at the pad unplugged. Really plays amazingly well. And sounds great. The entire body and neck are bound in Ivory including the nut. Smooth as silk.

I believe these were made in Korea in or around 1988-9. When i was buying it... the guy (who I've dealt with for years) told me he thought it was an 82 MIJ (I was like... jackpot). But that is not the case. :p

Either way...

Paid $600 in 2010. Its a real Fender (not a Squire) and has been Worth every penny.
