If anything, they need to start importing the Japanese Jags and Jazz's again. Fender won't do that, however, because they stopped shipping them here originally so there wouldn't be an alternative to the American Vintage Jag's and Jazz's, as the Japanese made ones are cheaper and of equal or better quality. Can't be competing w/ yourself and making yourself lose money in the process. I'm actually very surprized that they havn't shipped over the comp mustangs w/ matching headstocks though. Those sell for a good chunk on ebay when they show up and they would definately be a hot item if they officially offered them here.

There was a suggestion on another thread for a Highway One Jazzer and Jag.

I think that if fender released a chaeper Jazzmaster than the most possible waythey would do it is the Highway one series. This way fender won't be losing money importing since the highway one series are made in usa. I don't think that mim jazzmasters would attract jazzmaster players and we probably won't c any more high quality $@! ones.

I have a CIJ Q-series Jazzmaster that I picked up on eBay. Beautiful Lake Placid Blue just like the one in the avatar. It was in pristine condition when I bought it to the point where I was afraid to play it.

Wonderful guitar, very well made, but the toggle switch is starting to act up. P/Us aren't quite as warm as the USA version.
