I will eventually get a fender. If I got a duo sonic I would have to do a lot of moding! The neck was way to short for me so I will make a home made one so then I will have a long enough neck.I might just strip my silvertone for parts and make a home made guitar from scratch in a few years. Well thats mine.Whats your recent/already done/going to project?I saw the epic jagmaster and BN's homemade jaguar along with his awesome cyclone! That shows that a good modding can do some good.

2 right now. I'll post pix later. It started w/ what I believe to be a 73/73 Ibanez LP copy. I bought it for $30 and gutted it as all the parts and electronics were worthless. I threw in EMG 81/60 and Sperzels and chrome pup rings. I did this about 3-4 years ago. Last week I pulled out the EMGs and put them in my Gibson Explorer. Tomorrow night I will put the Gibson pups in the LP. I still have a little rewiring to do to the Gibson. The 60 buzzes. Not sure what I did wrong.

Last year I put a Red Lace pup in the bridge position of my Jaguar.

Finally, I still need a new neck for my 1980s Kramer 6000ST.

For all the expense and extra work involved in modding a Duo Sonic it would probably be a better idea to get a different guitar as that kind of mod is a lot more involved than it appears at first blush. As far as I know the Duo Sonic reissues of 93-97 were long neck like the Duo Sonic IIs from the 60s,maybe one of them would fit the bill.

The Duo Sonic II and the reissue too as far as I know had exactly the same bridge to nut length as a Strat so you must have tried the short scale version as the long neck was 21 fret same as most Strats.
