So I thought it would be a little bit easier to mod a mustang bass to a mustang guitar.Would it be easyer to do it?Would I just have to get the neck, pickups, and bridge changed?

Well yeah that'd all have to be replaced with guitar parts. The bridge would have to be moved to the correct position.

And i'm not sure about the mustang bass. but you might have problems bolting a guitar neck to it. the screw holes might not line up.

Pickup routing might also be another problem.

It's going to take a lot more work than just bolting on some guitar parts, and stringing it up. but go for it. and post some pictures.

As Trukis said this would be a mejor undertaking and I'd say definitely not for the faint of heart or inexperienced.Starting a project like that could do irrepairable damage to the bass and you might be left with a piece of wall art.The neck pocket ,bridge and pup placement, all that you could be opening a virtual Pandora's box of problems.

Don't do it.

i once contemplated changing an EB-3 copy (Gibson SG shaped bass) into an SG copy, but better sense prevailed and I abandoned it, even though I'd already bought some parts--including a neck.

When I realized the amount of work, and the chances of messing up my bass, and I made some changes to the bass, I fell in love with the bass, and couldn't change it that way either.

A little easier than what? Reinventing the wheel? :P
The Mustang bass and guitar share nothing in common but the name. I agree with the others it is not possible and the time and money you waste will be better off just buying a Mustang guitar.

You'll find out that a Mustang guitar neck will be too small for the bass neck pocket. You'll have to fill the bass pickup cavity and all screw holes. Then route for 2 new pickups, pcikup switches, and bridge with Mustang tremolo etc etc. I don't think the Mustang bass and guitar share the same body size, so that would mess up scale length and it will be impossible to intonate. Sorry to rain on your parade, just pointing some things out.
