Well, I was thinking about getting a new guitar soon(hopefully) but don't have a lot of money and I was wondering what you think about the Squire Jagmaster? I really like Nirvana and 90's music and it seems like it would suit that well. Thanks =D

The Jagmasters out right now aren't bad. Back in the 90's they were making Vista series Jagmasters in Fender Japans factory out of Jaguar necks and bodies. Those are my favorite because they didn't feel as cheap as the ones out now. They also had some 25.5" ones being made a while back but I don't know too much else about them. The new ones aren't as good as the Vistas in my opinion, but they're still very cool for the price.

As far as bang for yr buck, the Jagmaster is a winner hands down. The neck actually has a light finish on it so the neck doesn't feel rough like other Squiers. The frets are very nicely dressed as well, I never had a string get caught under a fret wire, or fret out even with the hardest bends. The alder body is incredibly light and comfortable and the sunburst finished model looks very comprable to the sunburst Jaguars. The stock pickups are decent as well, but as time goes on, it shouldn't be too hard to swap them out to give the JM just that much of a better tone. Play one for a while and I'm sure you'll be impressed as well.

The Vista series were great i agree. The new ones are also decent for the money, but, you could find a second hand Toronado at a similar price and it is a much better guitar.
Okay the Jagmaster has a trem but to be honest its not really up to much, they never are on budget guitars.

I saw a silver sparkle jagmaster for $250 at a pawnshop which I thought was kind of funny since a new jagmaster is only a little bit more than that.

Might have something to do with the fact that the silver sparkles are the full scale ones that are discontinued. Still overpriced though.
