i was thinking of getting a jaguar, but a friend of mine told me that the strings pop off of the bridge or something like that. he told me that most people just replace them with mustang bridges.

my question is, since mustang bridges aren't that common commercially, would a gibson tune-o-matic bridge work instead?

here's a perfect replacement as it is a mustang bridge that you can adjust the height of the saddles to compensate for various fretboard curves.

A T.O.M. will work as well, just check out the J. Mascis Jazzmaster.

A 'buzzstop' helps that problem. The mustang bridge is a bigger pain imo, some people swear by them though.
