Each of them are terribly interesting guitars. If a duo-sonic was your first impulse, I say go with it.

I had a '63 Duo Sonic for a little while and it was a unique beautiful guitar. Loved it. The Jagmaster is cool too, but it's going to sound like any other humbucker guitar, while the Duo Sonic has a more interesting, different sound.... similar to a Mustang. It's more unique than a Jagmaster.

I bought the Squier DuoSonic a year ago. I love it.
It is a grab and go for practice recording or gigging.
It has a great jangle sound.
I call her Junior.

I do eventually plan on getting the Jagmaster.
I wish you luck on your new toy. Let us know what transpires. 8) -N

I suppose I'm bias as I have an early 90's reissue of the Duo-Sonic rather than a Jagmaster, and I prefer Mustangs to Jaguars and Jazzmasters aswell. Go with the Duo-Sonic, mine surprised me, found my Fender Duo-Sonic in a pawn shap for £130 roughly $300, it's going through a respray and I wanna get a 24" scale neck because the 22.5" is just a tad 2 small. Stick to your gut though, and enjoy whatever guitar you get.

Go for the Duo Sonic, sonically it's a better guitar and real comfortable to play.

you have no idea my friend,..... :D :D :D It is a custom job (not the average Squier) I put together with a friend of mine. Wife bought it for me 5 years ago for my b-day for $99.
1968 Gulf Racing paint job.
Gino "The Butcher" Nardo)67-69 Mercury Cyclone emblem in acrylic, counter sunk into the body; custom locking tuners, Atomic II humbucker, MIA neck pup.
It plays very well. Had to file the frets; other than the paint, the pups, and the mojo, it is a favorite of mine. A lot of work. But worth it. IT WILL KILL ANY FACTORY MUSTANG. Merc VS Ford...lol...but yeah it will. 8)

i wish i had money to make my stang kill any factory model.... if i decide to route for a humbucker in the brige position, whats a good pup for a grungey, nirvana-ish sound?

is there any way to turn the stock duo sonic into a kick-as* guitar? Any way i can get a new pick guard with 3 single frets instead of 2?And any other mustang style bodies? I already know the cyclone, mustang, bronco but anything else? I really like their body shape

You wouldn't need more than the seymour duncans really.
But you could do anything you want.
More pickups doesn't always mean kickass, But the skies the limit do whatever you want.
As long as you like it. 8)
