I am a proud owner of a Korean Showmaster HH.

The guitar is great but I have two issues.

The tremolo I think is lacking. I dont need to do dive bombs and squeals but there is little 'range' when I use the bar.

When I use an alternate tuning (like tuning up a whole step), the guitar is almost unplayable at higher frets.

I opened the back plate to find a mere two springs inside. I find this rather odd as my Strat has three springs and no trem.

It may certainly explain things.

I was thinking of adding another spring (springs?).. I figure that some more resistance would help. If this is the correct route, Would this need a new setup? Truss rod adjustment? Other quirky adjustments?

Thanks
