Hi folks,

I got me a new Fender Sonoran SCE (natural wood finish, not that that matters) for Christmas. It was all great and and it was goin' good. Then all of a sudden I noticed that the action at my 12th fret really sucked. Then I tried to play my High-E at the 12th fret and the action was so bad that it wouldn't play the right note. (it played the 13th fret instead) So I go into the local Guitar-center where I ordered the thing and they told me that I have too low humidity in my room and my neck is humped up. So, I bought a Case and a humidifyer to put in it so my guitar will hopefully heal its self. I put a hydrometer in my case and I reads 65% (quite a change compared to the 14% in my room). Is what this guy is sayin' true? How long will it take to go back to normal? Do I have to loosen my strings? Is this problem inflated becuse of the nice and low action on the Sonoran?

PS Im new to buying guitars, Is it normal for a guitar to come with no documentation or manual or guide or something? mine didn't

Thanks alot any help would be greatly appreciated

First off, congratulations on your new guitar. The Sonoran is a great guitar for the money.

The humidity thing is true. If you live where it's dry in the winter due to the heating in your house, then acoustic guitars will suffer from the problem you're experiencing. I keep a humidifier in the guitar and store it in it's case during the winter months. Depending on how often you open the case, you can re-wet the humidifier every couple of days or maybe once a week or so if you don't open the case much.

It's a pain but it's one of the things you have to deal with in acoustic guitars.
