I got my Stratacoustic Deluxe this week, and I really like it. However, I noticed that the volume output of the bridge element is a lot higher than the output of the Telecaster element. When I try to mix the two element using the Blend-slider, the bridge element takes over completely after a few millimeters...

Is this normal behavior? Or is the something wrong with my guitar?

Thanks,
Wim

I have the same problem. I've read where people describe the lipstick pickup as sparkly. It's just sounds kind of dull here.

Is this normal, or should I take it in to get worked on?

In the end I send the guitar back to the shop hoping that they could fix the problem. When I got it back again, the note said that the bridge element was connected wrong... When I started playing the difference war huge: so much better. However, when moving the guitar, the problem sometimes came back...

I decided to investigate myself this time. Fiddling with the wires that connect the neck element (inside the body) the problem sometimes disappeared. So it was time to take more drastic action: first I did loosen up all the strings and stuck a piece of wood between the strings and the neck. Now I was able to remove the screws of the neck element and carefully remove the element itself. Then I could see what the problem was: the topside screw of the element is very close to the wires leading away from the element. The screw damaged the isolation on one of the wire so the screw touched the screw. I think they painted the inside of the recess in which the element is placed with a conducting paint.

The solution to the problem was simple: after putting some electric isolation tape around the damaged wire the problem never came back!

Hope this will help you!
