Trust me, I know it's a long shot. A VERY long shot, but with the power of the internet these days, you never know what can happen :D

Years upon years ago, in the dark times of the early 70's, my father owned a 66 or 67 Fender Mustang, serial number 108214. I happened across a photo of him holding this Candy Apple Red beauty. From what I understand, he traded it off way back in the day to Ben Milgrim at Milgrim's Pawn in Joplin, Missouri.

According to him, he traded it and $75 on his Gibson SG. My father learned how to play guitar on the Mustang, and taught me everything he knew when I was younger. Just something I would like to keep for myself. I told him someday I would find it, and I remember him saying "I hope somebody changed the pickups in it by the time you find it... You could whisper over the ones that were in it."

Again, I know it's a long shot, but sometimes cool things happen.

Thanks for reading! Any response is welcome :)

Some states require pawn shops to keep detailed records in case of theft
or stolen items. You could try calling and asking them if by chance they could look it up.

Good luck!

Forty years back is the longest of longshots IMO.

Better to just monitor Ebay via automated robo-search.

Sooner or later, everything shows up at the planet's largest yard sale.
