OK so actually, this would be more of a lateral acquisition if you catch my drift as from a Squier to a MIM Fender would be an outright upgrade.

Congratulations on your new acquisition ! !

Don't fall victim to the insults and "headstock label snobbery" exhibited by some at this site.

Once your Squier Bullet is properly set-up it will serve you well for a long time and it'll leave some cash in your pocket for strings, picks, capo(Planet Waves) and whatever else you might need.

Is it a "new" production Bullet? Is it an older, early Bullet Series from the 80's-90's? Let us know which or post a pic, be sure to include one of the headstock.

No matter which it is, it IS engineered and designed by Fender, just that puts it above so many other guitars on the market today. It's a tried and true design which I'm sure as a new player you'll love.

You'll find more info AND acceptance at the following sites, www.Strat-talk.com, www.Squier-talk.com, and www.Telecaster.com (not just Teles, there are resources for all models). I post at those sites under NJjoanjettfan. I also post at the Squier '51 site as "blackheartsfan" (www.instituteofnoise.com). As you might suspect I like female rockers who can play a guitar.

For free lessons an excellent site is www.guitarnoise.com. At this site are loads of songs/lessons for both beginners and intermediates. All are accompanied by audio files (mp3) and downloadable sheet music and tab. No matter what your level as a beginner I'm positive there will be something there that you'll be able to play from Neil Youngs' "Hey, Hey, My, My" to the White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" both quite easy. Check it out as there are about 30 in each category (beginner/intermediate). Just hearing something that sounds "familiar" from your guitar will give you a boost of enthusiam as you realize it's YOU who is playing something you recognize (try it).

Anyway it's great to see a female rocker "born".

PS. if you find you need more growl I have a new, unused, Hot Rails type humbucker (fits in a single coil rout) that you're welcome to. Message me through either this site or one of the above.

you said dont fall victim to headstock label snobbery yet you post this..... just because its fender does NOT mean its great..... a perfect example being the performer and katana which both failed miserably (to my knowledge)

If you like "surf music" the site www.surfmusic.com had approximately 35 songs available FREE for download (printable just like guitarnoise but with no sound files) in both tab and sheet. You must join/register but it's FREE and there are quite a few instrumental classics like the "Hawaii Five-O" theme, "Pipeline", and so many others you find you've heard somewhere before.

I've played BOTH the Performer and the Katana in the last year and BOTH sound fine to me. Just because they were marketing "failures" doesn't mean they were substandard guitars.

please note that i said to my knowledge.... as in what ive read and heard from people who have owned them..... btw the one time i have played a katana i had JUST started to play guitar and it was at a garage sale so it was more than likely a $#!* instrument that i was holding.... also, to each his own some might like them some might not

Speaking for MYSELF and not having anyone else presume what I'm saying or thinking, it is this:

MANY Squiers are excellent PLAYING guitars. Now, without getting into a big long list of deficiencies such as but not limited to, a very soft string nut, inevitable fret sprout, necks that will not fully straighten properly, porous hardware and 'light duty' electronics, let's just say that in effect, you will be owning two beginners level guitars. Of note is the fact that oftentimes, the people who vehemently defend this line as better than or equal to ANYTHING out there are usually the ones who CAN'T AFFORD better and so they must rationalize and defend the Squier line. Notwithstanding, the reality remains, they are what they are.

As to snobbery, I don't care if a guitar was made on the moon. If it is a superior instrument, I'd play it.
