I can't find anything on the Fender site that would tell me which hard cases are available for which guitars. A simple matrix of this case fit's these guitars would be VERY helpful. As an example, the '65 Mustang reissue, I now own one, and I understand that it comes without a case. That's fine. But I want to buy, pay for, purchase, coff up the cash for, a case. I have no idea what Fender recommends.

What about the Jaguar? What if I want to step up to a hard case for my brand new MIM Jaguar? I have found nothing that says "hey, use the Jazzmaster case for your Jaguar". I have to cull that from a review at Musician's Friend. I don't get it. It's a sale isn't it?

Thank you

the mustang i got recently only came with a soft case which i've NEVER believed in... but its only reissue so i'm not willing to go hungry for a proper fender case. me and my local guitar shop who look after me, we figured out you could buy a strat case then go to a local rubber shop and buy something to fill out the gaps in the case.

No its not the real thing but it gives it sufficient protection at probably a quarter of the cost.

just a thought.

It's a good idea.
For instance, the Tim Armstrong Hellcat fits perfectly in a classical acoustic gig bag (probably in classical case too, but I still have to check on this one).

You could also use firm upholstery foam(the oils inrubber can react with some finishes and cause irrepairable damage)and cut it out to the contours of the guitar.I did that with a case that was too large for my mandolin and it worked fine.

they make cases 2 different cases for mustangs, on for the musicmaster/bronco/mustang, and one for the cyclone/jag-stang/mustang, and the jazzmaster case fits the jaguar

i used a white limited edition coffin case and i modded the interior to fit. The center section where the storage compartment is where i cut it down and re-fitted the plush to fit my jaguar hh. now it fits perfect. it was not really too hard, just some cutting and shaving of the wood and styrofome on one support piece. While i was in there i did some firming up on the compartment lid too so now it is a little better then from factory.
