......you might have to add 'since he adopted the new guitar in the late '80's. The tone is interesting in this clean presentation. It's classic
Clapton fingering, bending, and vibrato, but the Fender Twin's EQ'ing ( forever a mystery) cannot be ruled out and, of course, the enhancement of 25db midboost in the other guitar, in addition to who knows what else, lends a whole different dimension to his tone.

Your question is specific to what the Fender Custom Shop does. As far as Gretsch is concerned, they are presently Masterbuilding certain instruments. Find a Fender Showcase Dealer and have them guide you through the process. As far as Gretsch is concerned, you can login off the Fender website and investigate that issue further. My guess is, for the $$$'s, you can pretty much have what you desire.
