I have a yellow fender. single pickup. solid body, with "lines" made into the fiberglass. Serial number is 77----. I have had it since the middle 80's but never thought about what is was or worth. Is there somewhere to look up serial numbers for guitars? Any help?

Send the serial number and ask Fender Consumer Relations.

I have contacted consumer relations, twice. No response. I have found out it was made between 65-67. Still do not know what style. Maybe a strato, but has single pickup. What was a Mustang?

Sounds like a Musicmaster to me. Or bronco. Is the pickup in the neck or bridge position?

That makes it sound like a Musicmaster. Easily googled.

Does it have an S prefix prior to the serial number ? It would probably be 1977.

There are single pickup Strat models. Do you have a picture ?

cb2560,
No response from Consumer Relations......twice? Really? I don't hear that too often.

First along with the cool advisements above...there is also
http://www.fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php

Unfortunately, we don't have records for individual instruments going back that far. At the time, that would have been a whole lot of paper!
You're on the right track with the various dater sites and the kind folks here though.

All the best,
rob
