I'm gonna ebay this

the prices are going up because people are becoming more aware of them. a few years ago you could get 'em for a couple hundred. i paid about $500 for mine in february.

darn guitarists :x

eh, good deals are still out there if you know where to look. unfortunately the two places with the most stuff, ebay and gbase, are also the most trafficked. so they have the highest prices, and in turn dictate the prices for the whole vintage guitar market.
when i first started playing guitar, i really wanted a jaguar, but didn't have the money. but at that time you could get vintage ones cheaper than the reissues on ebay. usually for under $1000. this was only about 6 or 7 years ago. since then, more people have been looking on ebay for vintage guitars, so the prices go up due to more bids. and now people start the bids high and put high reserves and buy it nows because they know they can get it.

darn marketing techniques :x :x

Yeah its crazy. Things are getting to the point where its like, "okay so do I buy a new car or do I buy this guitar I really want?" Almost. Its a tough choice to have to make.

my bronco was a pretty big project. i got it for 150 bucks on ebay 2 years ago. it was murdered. tele pickup in the bridge. the body and the pickguard were pretty much hacked to bits. I put alot of love and money into this thing to get it back to spec.

the finishing touch was the knobs and covering up the seymour duncan duckbucker with an orgional solid pickup cover

mine wasn't nearly as bad as rob's, but it was poorly routed for a humbucker in the neck position. rather than restoring it, i took it as an opportunity to customize it the way i wanted it.
