The Bronco is similar to the mustang in terms of body shape and scale length, but only has one pickup and a very different bridge. They're both great guitars, though. You can usually get Broncos cheaper because they don't have the Kurt factor.
Here is my bronco, very customized:

myth, definitely. it stays in tune very well. it's a nice, floating trem. although, i do dread the thought of setting the intonation because of the poorly-placed screws. it was leo's last design for fender before he left. while i am not of the opinion that the man had no bad ideas, i do think that he was too smart to put a poor design into mass production. the guitar did last from 1967 to sometime in the early eighties.

the prices are going up because people are becoming more aware of them. a few years ago you could get 'em for a couple hundred. i paid about $500 for mine in february.

eh, good deals are still out there if you know where to look. unfortunately the two places with the most stuff, ebay and gbase, are also the most trafficked. so they have the highest prices, and in turn dictate the prices for the whole vintage guitar market.
when i first started playing guitar, i really wanted a jaguar, but didn't have the money. but at that time you could get vintage ones cheaper than the reissues on ebay. usually for under $1000. this was only about 6 or 7 years ago. since then, more people have been looking on ebay for vintage guitars, so the prices go up due to more bids. and now people start the bids high and put high reserves and buy it nows because they know they can get it.
