Well sounds like most people would say play everything and decide, I on the other hand will only play guitars that I'm attracted to. ie There colour and shape.

I don't think you can go wrong when deciding on a Jaguar... it seems that they only ever look good! no matter the colour. The white one is awesome if you can find it.

'62 American is probably a fine guitar (never actually got to play one). The mexican versions seem to have lost the traditional vibe with replacing the bridge for a TOM. So this brings me here, I went out and found a '66 RI Limited MIJ. This guitar is awesome, so before you pull the trigger on the '62 MIA, see if you can find one of these first. It will save you approx. $600 - $700.

here's pics btw

What type of music are you trying to play? I have a couple of Jags. My CIJ has great surfy and punky tones, my HH special with dragsters #$@*&!% screams for my hardcore stuff.

You mean the block inlays? That isn't a gibson thing, they just do it more often and even then it's usually trapzoids. Jaguars and Jazzmasters in the late 60s on had block inlays and bound necks.

That's a beautiful guitar, robt8500, and great advice. I've seen some of those MIJ Jaguars and Jazzmasters, and I was very impressed. 8)

'Snagged a Classic Player Jaguar in January on sale, that hot metallic red and it is way too much fun to ignore.
