I am in conintuous search for this guitar. Would prefer a master built, but will consider many. I am not sure where to post this so I figured I would start here.

Does anyone know of a guitar locatore service or broker who can help find one of these. Will pay from 3500 -5000 depending on condition.

Took me 5 years to find mine.
They don't surface so often.

There is one for sale in France but the Seller is too greedy and the exchange rate €/$ isn't in your favour

I've been looking on eBay. They pop up two or three times a year. Saw a Fender Flame for under $2K, but was short on cash at the time.

Simply Beautiful....and probably sounds and plays better than it looks. Way outta my budget, though.
I waslucky enough to get one of those discontinued Squier Esprits with the natural finish which is not a bad axe. Especially at a meer fraction of the cost.

yes, this one on ebay does not interest me, it is a bit ugly and way overpriced. I think I am going to have the custom shop build a new Esprit for me. I got a great offer on price to build one. I just wish I did not have to wait.

I'd really like an Espirit or Flame, they're neat.

Very nice, but very high. I thought prices were coming down even on the harder to find guitars.

Hi there!

I´m new here on the forum... greetings to everyone.

I was recently able to buy a Fender Robben Ford Signature model (USA Custom Shop, Serial Nr. 018) on an auction.

It´s an amazing guitar, the shape it was in was so-so, but after it got refretted and got the electronics cleaned it works great and sounds and plays (!) amazing. The finish only has very few scratches and such. It came without case, and I don´t think the tone and volume knobs are original. One of them was missing anyway.
It looks a lot like the one alainlafrance got, just in a different colour.

Does anybody know what the market value of this guitar would be?

After playing it for awhile it turns out the sound of the solid mahogany body is maybe not exactly what I was looking for.
As I recently test-drove a Esprit Standard (with Alder body, I believe) I start to think that that sound is more what I´m after.
Unfortunately I didn´t win the following ebay bidding for the Esprit (as I´m still broke from buying the RF)... so on some point in the future maybe I need to sell the RF before buying an Esprit - if I find one, that is.

Anyway, any info is appreciated, and thanks so far for all the information, pictures, links and so on everybody is sharing here!

Greetings

Florian

Hi again,

in case anybody´s interested, I´m going to sell my RF Ultra FM.

I would like to avoid going through ebay, so if anybody´s interested and would like to buy directly let me know. I can send pictures if you like.
I live in Cologne/ Germany.

Greetings

Florian

The Esprit and the Flame served as the basis for the USA-made Robben Ford signature models. These guitars are no longer produced.

Hi there.

Just want to throw this out there......

Since Fender built the guitar in the first place, I would think if you gave the custom shop a call they would be able to build you a new one.

Sure wouldn't hurt to give it a shot, ther worst they will say is no.

But in an economy like this, I would think they would say yes.
