Does anyone out there own one of these or know more about them. All I've been able to determine is that they are a Fender Japan product and that they have a non-matching headstock , block inlays and a bound fingerboard. Any additional info would be much appreciated.

i'm not sure what happened from the moment i walked into the guitar shop and when i left but the tag around the neck was saying $1200CAN and he (guy that worked there) was saying $799CAN. i walked up to the counter with it and i asked him if he was sure about me leaving with it at that price..... he said yes. so i paid him the money, took my little beauty home to meet her new family and have reffered all people in my area to his shop ever since.

Great story. It's not every day you find a dealer like that.

So how do you like the guitar? What color did you get?

it's the burst. once i got the bridge to stop buzzing with some (very fine) adjustments, it plays great. love the stock pickups and pickup combination/tone controls.

bought it more from a fender collector standpoint though. i already have my everyday beaters that take their fair share of abuse, so this one just hangs on the wall with a few others that only come out for special occasions.

have you got/getting one?

How's the 'burst? I've seen some photos that looked great but I just got a sunburst Bass VI so I asked for CAR but in any event, I'd be happy with either color. I definitely see the potential for collectability, there is a small but devoted following for MIJ Fenders and the ones I've owned have been beautiful beyond belief.

I anticipate that I may do something different with the bridge, a Mastery bridge or maybe a Mustang bridge.

I only found out about the existence of the model less than a week ago and had called in an order within 1/2 hour. I'll have to see what the dealer comes up with.

That is some sort of fine! All 'bursts are not created equal but you won the 'burst lottery! Nice collection.
