Hi all!

I just found out that I lost the key for my Fender '62 Jaguar case. The case is the original case that came with the guitar. I bought the guitar 4 years ago and it was brand new. Can I order a new key from Fender? Are the keys unique to every case, which means I have to go to local locksmiths to open the case? Thanks guys :D

LOL... Sorry to hear that. Been there, done it too. You're in good company. I'm sure if you dug around google, you'd find some information relating to your problem which would [ahem] solve it.

If you go to an older, "Mom & Pop" store who have sold Fenders at any time, chances are they have either a junk drawer or box with a goodly amount of anonymous case keys. Odds are, one of these keys will fit and operate your case's lock.

i would say try a locksmith. they prob dont specialize in guitar cases, but its at least worth a try! priority: patience and care. last resort: sledge hammer.

The first thing I do with a new guitar is throw away the case key. Do you think having the case locked is going to keep someone from stealing your guitar?
